Notes
- Excerpt from letter dated 26 July 1979 from Warren Wilson to grandson D. Trumbull–
At Baraga Michigan my dad met and married
Amelia Falk. Now Amelia came across the
Atlantic in a sail boat at a very young
age. Her father John Falk and several other
families chartered a boat and after crossing
the Atlantic continued up the St. Lawrence
River thru the Great Lakes to a spot between
Baraga and L'Anse; went in land by oxen carts
and eventually formed a settlement called Falk
Settlement 5 miles in land from the bay. The
Falks were mostly German.
