Write-in Is Right-on!

by David Trumbull -- September 24, 2010

By now you have probably heard of Jim McKenna’s campaign as the GOP candidate for Attorney General. He obtained nearly 28,000 certified write-in votes on Primary Day – a feat many thought impossible! In fact, Jim is only the second person since the 1970s to make the statewide ballot as a write-in candidate in Massachusetts.

If anyone deserved an opponent this election cycle it’s Martha Coakley. Voters didn’t want to give her a free ride after seeing the flailing and negative campaign she ran against U.S. Senator Scott Brown. When Jim McKenna heard Coakley say ‘it’s not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts,’ he immediately came forward to run a powerful grassroots campaign.

Jim McKenna is highly qualified to be the next Attorney General of the Commonwealth. He’s a former prosecutor, assistant District Attorney, and currently has a private law practice. Jim McKenna is also a professor of law and ethics – he is certainly never going to look the other way from political corruption in Massachusetts, as Coakley did with the federal indictments of Sal DiMasi and Dianne Wilkerson.

Jim McKenna’s campaign for AG is focusing on three elements to turn this state around:

  • Prosecuting political corruption.
  • Cracking down on state benefits for illegal immigrants.
  • Tightening the size of state government.
Martha Coakley and her out-of-touch Beacon Hill allies need a wake-up call, and that’s exactly where you come in. Jim McKenna needs your help! He has just 42 days to raise enough money to finally oust Martha Coakley – the ultimate political insider.
